In the Zone

Today is supposed to be my first day of my "nitty gritty", get-down-to-business half-marathon training. I set my alarm for 5:45, and at 4am, I woke up and turned it off. Why do I self-sabotage?

But anyways, I was telling my new friend Daniel about my lack of motivation today, and he said "well, that's because you're not in the zone yet." And he's absolutely right. Every time I need to accomplish a goal, I imagine myself doing it, and that's something I haven't done in regards to this half-marathon. I still haven't signed up for it, and I know I need to to get me the extra lift I need. But I need to start envisioning myself running it and crossing that finish line. I need to envision that finisher's medal hanging in my office.

As I was wasting time on Facebook today, I came across a post by Jenn Widder, a Biggest Loser contestant from a few seasons ago. She's looking for someone to run the NYC Half Marathon with her at her pace, which is 12:15. I offered to be her partner. How cool would that be to run a half mary with a "celebrity"?!

To answer Caren's question yesterday, the Disney Princess Half Marathon is March 5-7. I'll probably be going down a few days ahead of time and spend 1 or 2 extra days after the race just to enjoy Disney. If you want to run it with me, let me know. I might be staying with a friend down there, but if you want to share a room, I'm up for that. Just gotta wait for some more money since I spent most of mine on Black Friday. Oops! And I'd love to run that race with you that you mentioned. Just message me on FB with the info.

Reindeer Stampede

Today was the 11th Annual Reindeer Stampede for my high school's cross country team boosters. I ran cross country one year in high school, so it felt pretty cool to be supporting the team. Plus, some of the old runners from my team came out. My coach remembered me and was there at the finish line cheering me on. I really hadn't been training for this run because I haven't been able to get out of bed before the sun rises, and it's dark before I get home from work. And I despise the treadmill. But I did go out on Thursday morning for an interval training run, which felt really good! I had a goal of running the entire race, but after the 1.5 mile marker, I lost my steam. My hamstrings were tight, and I was getting a pain in my side from not breathing correctly. I still had a stuffy nose from being sick the week before, so I had to breathe out of my mouth the whole time. I finished the race strong at around 37:10. Definitely not one of my best times, but for walking parts of it, I think I did pretty well.

I'm going to be signing up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon soon, so I need to start training pretty bad for that.

It's been long enough...

Things have not been going well for me in the weight loss arena of my life. I put an offer on a house in the beginning of November, and with all of the stress, I gained 5 pounds in about 2 days. It was also my birthday, and I spent a weekend not caring about calories. I've gotten back to tracking my calories, but I'm still over every day by at least 300 calories. I made it to the gym twice last week. I really need to stick to some goals this week.

  • Drink at least 8 cups of water
  • Exercise three times this week
  • Track my food every.single.day
I went to the grocery store to stock up on healthy foods today, so I know I'll have a rockstar week if I just stay focused.

Things haven't been going well with the "boyfriend" either, so that's causing some unnecessary stress as well.

It's after midnight, and I'm starving, and I'm NOT going to feel bad for eating this late.

Size 10!!!

That's right! I went in to The Limited a few days ago with a friend, and as I was picking it off the rack, I told my friend "just for s*its and giggles". I went in to the dressing room expecting to not be able to zip them up. I just wanted to know how far I had to go. They zipped right up!!! And here's the proof! You probably can't see the "10" well, but it's there! When I went up the register, my friend met me there and said "how did it go?" I said "that right there is my first pair of size 10s ever in my life." The guy at the cash register was so excited for me, he gave me an additional 25% off! Oh, and I even bought some size Large shirts. I'm so excited not to be an Extra Large anymore! I got the black pants, 2 sweaters, and 1 long sleeve shirt for $75. I saved over $100!

Today is my last appointment with my weight loss doctor. I think I've maybe lost 2 pounds in the last 6 weeks, bu
t I've lost a few inches here and there, so at least I'm smaller even though the scale doesn't think so. The program with the weight loss doctor was 6 months long, but he said I can continue to see him at a reduced cost, so I'm definitely going to do that. But I'm extremely happy to have lost 25 pounds in 6 months!

Here's today's measurements:
Waist- 32.5 (loss of 2.5 total)
Left Arm- 11 (-1)
Right Arm- 11 (-1)
Hips- 39.5 (-3.25)
L Thigh- 22 (-2.25)
R Thigh- 22.25 (-2)
L Calf- 14.5 (-1)
R Calf- 14.25 (-1)

Pant Size- 10 (loss of 2 sizes)
Panties- M (loss of 1 size)
Bra- 38C (loss of 1 cup size)
Shirt- L (loss of 1 size)
And to the right is a picture of me from yesterday in my size 10s!

Day 2 of Staying Accountable

Wow, I really screwed up today. I went over my calories by 824, and I'm full of excuses. The coffee bar was out of the ingredients that I usually put in my coffee, so I chose something else, and I had no clue how many calories it had in it until just now. My office is still microwave-less ever since my dad almost burnt the place down, so I've been choosing some really unhealthy foods for lunch. I really need to start bringing in some more healthy lunches. And it was just a weird day, and I messed up. Plus, I didn't exercise because I was just too tired.

Tomorrow's another day.

Oh, today was weigh-in day, and I was 178.6. Just a pound up from last week. I gotta start doing better!

Day 1- Staying Accountable

OK, I'm back like I said I would be. I journaled today, and I'm only over by 177 calories. I ate real junk though. I really need to start eating more veggies and fruits. I did exercise today... 10 minutes on the bike just to get my heart rate up and then some weight lifting.
